‘Life threatening heat’ is coming to Bay Area. Here’s how hot it will get.

The National Weather Service is calling it the “first real heat event of 2021” in the San Francisco Bay Area.

“Dangerous & life threatening heat” is expected to grip portions of the Bay Area from Wednesday through Friday, the weather service said in a tweet, as a ridge of high pressure strengthens over the Four Corners region in the Southwestern United States and spreads across California.

Widespread high 90s to low 100s are forecast in inland areas Wednesday through Friday, while the coast and locations along the bay will remain in the 70s to 80s with a light ocean breeze, according to the weather service.

The weather service issued a heat advisory for inland areas from 11 a.m. Wednesday through 9 p.m. Friday.
